Getting from Pulkovo to central St Petersburg

Every working option: bus and metro, taxi, private transfer. Prices, journey times, why there's no airport express, and how to travel at night.

Pulkovo is St Petersburg's only airport, 18 km from the centre. The ride to Voskresenskaya Embankment takes 35–60 minutes depending on the option and time of day. First, the important part: there is no airport express train at Pulkovo — never has been. Your options are bus, taxi or a private transfer.

Bus and metro — the cheapest way

Buses 39 and 39E run from the terminal to Moskovskaya metro. From there take the blue line, change at Tekhnologichesky Institut to the red line, and ride to Chernyshevskaya — a 10-minute walk from the embankment.

  • Time: 60–90 minutes
  • Cost: ≈100 ₽ bus + ≈80 ₽ metro
  • Downside: awkward with heavy luggage or children

Taxi — the best balance

For 1–4 people with standard luggage, take a taxi via Yandex Go. To the embankment it's 35–45 minutes in normal traffic, 25–30 at night.

  • Daytime cost: 1,100–1,600 ₽
  • At night and peak arrival hours surge pricing reaches 2,500–3,500 ₽
  • For a night flight, schedule the taxi in advance

Private transfer — met at the exit

For families, night flights or important arrivals — a private transfer: a business-class car, a greeter with a sign at the exit, luggage help, a fixed price with no surge.

  • Cost: 2,500–4,000 ₽ depending on the car class
  • Fixed price even if the flight is delayed (the driver tracks it)
  • A minivan for 6–8 people — 4,500–6,000 ₽
  • Book it through our manager — we work with trusted drivers

What does not work

  • Aeroexpress from Pulkovo — does not exist. Any such info is outdated or confused with Moscow.
  • Direct metro to Pulkovo — none. The line ends at Moskovskaya.

Any trouble with the transfer — message the manager, we'll arrange the best option for your flight.
